Facility Engineering Technician

The Facility Engineering Technician program prepares students to plan, coordinate, and direct a broad range of services that allow organizations to operate facilities efficiently. This program will lead Students to a career in managing building/facility operations.

Vocational Institute of Michigan Facility Engineering Technician program has three main goals:

The first goals are to prepare students entering the field of engineering at a non-academic level to obtain a job within four months. After completing an entry level course the student will be trained to fill a job at the lowest entry level of building operations and maintenance where a license may or may not be required.

A second goal is to provide students training that will enable them to advance to a new job in the field of engineering technology after each course.

The final goal is to have student graduate as Facility Engineer Technicians. At this level they will be the leaders that oversee the overall operations of facilities of all industries.
