The Power Plant Technician II program is designed to teach the student to operate and maintain power and heating plants or boiler gauge pressure (steam or water) of more than 15-p.s.i. with boiler heating surfaces up to 7500 square feet and up to 100 steam engine turbine horsepower.
Students will receive education and training that will aid them in preparing for the City of Detroit Third Class Stationary Engineers Examination. Completion of this course prepares the student to begin a career in building operations and maintenance that require at least a third class steam engineer operator’s license.
PREREQUISITES
City of Detroit high pressure boiler license, Power Plant Tech I Program or accepted experience recognized by city, state or federal government. Students must be working in the field to be eligible to take this course.
